| The international conference Art and Civilization in Monastic Places that will unfold its works over the days between 20 September 2018 and 25 September 2018, is a joint endeavour of the Holy Metropolis of Kyrenia and the Romanian National Commission for UNESCO. It constitutes an effort to touch upon the unceasing dialogue between the past, the present and the future, by placing particular emphasis on the contribution of the Holy Monasteries of the Holy Metropolis of Kyrenia, Autocephalous Church of Cyprus towards the development and evolution of the cilivization of the island of Cyprus. Such exercise shall encompass analyses of architectural, folkloric, historical, iconographic, musical and theological natures. By adopting a multidisciplinary approach, this conference shall scrutinise essential aspects of the activity that has sprung from the Holy Monasteries of Kyrenia in order to scientifically demonstrate their integral and organic role in the formation and perpetuation of civilisation on this land.
Το διεθνές συνέδριο Τέχνη και Πολιτισμός σε Μοναστικούς Χώρους θα πραγματοποιήσει τις εργασίες του από τις 20 μέχρι τις 25 Σεπτεμβρίου 2018. Πρόκειται για μια κοινή προσπάθεια μεταξύ της Ιεράς Μητροπόλεως Κυρηνείας και της Ρουμανικής Εθνικής Επιτροπής της UNESCO. Συνιστά μια προσπάθεια να αγγίξει τον ατέρμονο διάλογο μεταξύ του παρελθόντος, του παρόντος και του μέλλοντος, τονίζοντας εμφαντικά την συμβολή των Ιερών Μονών της Ιεράς Μητροπόλεως Κυρηνείας, της Αυτοκεφάλου Εκκλησίας της Κύπρου, στην πορεία της ανάπτυξης και της εξέλιξης του πολιτισμού στην Κύπρο. Τέτοιου είδους ενάσκηση θα συμπεριλάβει αναλύσεις και παρουσιάσεις τοπικών παραδόσεων, αρχιτεκτονικής, ιστορικής, εικονογραφικής, μουσικολογικής και θεολογικής φύσεως. Υιοθετώντας διεπιστημονική προσέγγιση, το συνέδριο θα διερευνήσει ουσιαστικές πτυχές της δραστηριότητας των Ιερών Μονών της Κυρηνείας με σκοπό την επιστημονική προβολή του δικού τους αναπόσπαστου και οργανικού ρόλου στη διαμόρφωση, στη συγκρότηση και διαιώνιση του πολιτισμού στο νησί. |
